A list:
- supervised a lot of school work
- given my children permission to skip school work
- deep cleaned parts of my house
- ignored other parts of my house completely (the cobwebs are a real problem)
- purchased both a pressure washer and a steam cleaner
- not used either yet
- sorted kids’ clothes to get rid of things they’ve outgrown
- left bags of clothes to donate by the front door for several weeks
- spent a lot of money ordering new clothes for kids that insist on having synchronized growth spurts
- not gone outside my house for days at a time
- picked up lunch from the school district
- let my kids drink all the chocolate milk they wanted
- made ice cream & muffins & cookies & cake
- experimented with some new dinner recipes
- gotten takeout the same day we’ve gotten groceries
- forgotten appointments because time means nothing
- scheduled our entire day around appointments because there’s nothing else to look forward to
- worn a mask to the library, Target, the doctor’s office, and the grocery store
- spent too much time on my phone
- finished a bunch of really hard puzzles
- grown out my bangs (mostly…it’s a work in progress)
- gone on mini road trips to get out of the house for the day
- taken more photo with my DSLR than I have in ages
- hyper-fixated on current events & coronavirus numbers
- learned I need to ignore coronavirus numbers because they just ratchet up my anxiety
- started therapy
- celebrated three family birthdays (not counting Luke’s birth day)
- went to Sunday School via Zoom
- decided not to go to Zoom Sunday School anymore
- considered holding Zoom choir practice without following through on it (I’m the choir director for our congregation)
- let the kids stay up too late most nights
- let the kids sleep in every day
- dreamed of someday having babysitters & date nights again
- dreamed of someday going places at all again
- reconsidered future plans & current priorities
- wondered what the world will look like a year from now
- resigned myself to not knowing
