Here’s how things stand regarding April’s list progress:
Visit Brad and Emily: It was such a fun trip! Plus, this happened:
Dear Chloe: Never change. You are amazing. Love, Aunt Jen
Reach out to my friends: I’ve kind of been in survival mode this month so socializing hasn’t really been on my mind. I think traveling took a lot more out of me than I anticipated. That’s okay, though. I got to spend time with Rachael for the first time in like five years, which counts for a lot.
Host Fakesgiving: Done, and it was delightful. I enjoyed myself so much that I didn’t bother to take a single picture. Which was kind of the point, actually…to enjoy the day and the food and the people and not worry about stuff like that. It’s definitely going to be an annual event henceforth.
Create a new family tradition: French bread Friday, y’all. It’s totally a thing.
Bake something new each month: I tried this chocolate chip cookie recipe and they were not too shabby. Not the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had, but David thought they were about 90% there. He would know; he eats A LOT of cookies.
Grow a more successful garden: So far so good. We may actually get a handful of carrots and a watermelon or two this year, although it’s still too early to tell for sure. Fingers crossed.
Monthly think piece: It wasn’t what I’d planned to write this month, but my ode to Margot was certainly heartfelt. Heaven only knows what I’d do without that girl.
Contribute regularly to The Beesley Project and Tipsaholic: I have been less than stellar here as well. Whoever scheduled me for Beesley Fridays and left most Saturdays open was a genius because more than once I’ve had to postpone a post until the next day. Boo, Jen. Still, I’m quite proud of this post about how David almost got sent on a death mission (spoiler: he didn’t die). As for Tipsaholic…that has been put on the back burner for now. Perhaps in May I can get it together.
Slow but steady, people, and more stuff in the works. I can’t wait to share as it all unfolds!

She is so great. And someday this may be good blackmail material. Just sayin'.
