Part of the reason we wanted to visit my brother and his little family was to meet our newest niece Phoebe. Her name means bright or shining, and she really is a little ray of light.
The few days we spent with Brad and Emily was pretty bright and shiny.
Sandwiched between polar vortexes and crazy Midwest tornadoes were some perfectly beautiful days, and we were lucky enough to be there to enjoy them.
We played in the sunshine and ate way too much delicious food.
(I’m not joking about the food. Emily provided fantastic dinners, we had lunch at their favorite Greek place, and there was a never-ending supply of donuts, peanut butter bars, cookies, and other tasty treats. It’s a wonder we didn’t all gain ten pounds.)
The girls were delighted to play together.
And we took terrible family pictures. (Which should surprise exactly no one because I’m soooo photogenic. Although this time it was mostly on purpose.)
I’m so glad the stars aligned such that we could go when we did. I’m so grateful that they were willing to put their lives on hold for a bit to host us. I’m so happy that this in-law selfie exists.
Our family is awesome.

Ok so I am completely jealous! I want to meet that sweet little niece of mine too! Plus the In-Law selfie is missing one other person and I am sure he would love to be there as much as me! Next summer we will have to do updated pictures again! ๐

I think they will be visiting in the summer, so we'll have to take lots of pics together then!

I saw this post before I drove up to Chicago yesterday and I laughed out loud… to myself… several times because of these photos. I need all of them!! I chuckle every time I think about them, I can't imagine the joy that would fill me if I could see them everyday. I love Chloe catching Margot with the bug catcher. And the selfie. Oh mercy. The selfie. I love it.

That bug catcher…who knew it would be such a hit? And that you and David would be selfie champs? Bravo.
