The idea was to dress her up like a Treasure Troll. You know. These guys:
It was supposed to be SUPER easy. Gel and hairspray her hair to stick up straight, stick a jewel in her belly, and call it good.
Except the more I sprayed and messed with her hair, the worse it looked.
It’s just way too long and fine to stand up like that.
Then there was the matter of getting the jewel to stay put. Mila’s reaction to my efforts? “Mama put something fun to play with in my belly button! I will pull it out and play with it! Hooray for new toys!”
I even tried having her lay down so I could make her hair look like it was standing on end and maybe gravity could keep that dang jewel in her belly button. No such luck. Kiddo rolled around and thought it was hilarious.
The costume I thought would be the easiest (and possibly most awesome, Hulk Hogan notwithstanding) was by far the biggest flop. Alas. We’ll try again tomorrow.
(Troll doll or not, she’s still pretty dang precious, don’t you think?)
