David was going to make something AMAZING for today…and then yesterday he found out he has to go to San Jose tomorrow morning for work. (We have spent the last six Halloweens together. It’s kind of the holiday of our love. We’re both a little bummed that this will be our first one apart. Alas.) With travel preparations and all, costume-making just didn’t happen.
Fortunately, Uncle Ben and Aunt Liz just got back from a trip to Maui with some super cute presents for Miss Mila which saved the day. Behold: the palest Hawaiian princess of them all.
I dressed up as a hula girl for Halloween when I was three or four, so this is totally a legit costume, right? (Mom: do you have a photo of that? Would you send it to me?)
We gotta spend some time outside this fall/winter. She’s probably rocking a serious vitamin D deficiency.
See? Even Little Miss Sassy is like, “Mom. It is no longer a million degrees outside. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if we both got some sun.”
She’s totally right.
(If only it weren’t for the mosquitoes that WILL. NOT. DIE. Those scabs and scars on her legs? Mosquito bites. You people getting snow already? Be grateful that at least you’re not threatened with West Nile virus every time you step outdoors.)
ANYWAY. Eventually David will make that other costume. And I still have materials for yet another. Maybe we’ll just keep playing dress-up periodically and share the amusing fruits of our labors, Halloween or not.

Beats me. It was a quick, last minute thing. All I know is that's the airport he flew into.
