Ah, roses.
They’re so cliche but I don’t even care; I love them. Did you know that when I was small I wanted my middle name to be Red Rose? True story. (Big me would have regretted that decision but small me was convinced it was a great idea.)
I love visiting Winslow in July because my mom’s roses are in bloom and we almost always get hit by a good monsoon.
And roses and monsoons are two of my most favorite things.
Also on my list of favorite things: this Tumblr. Jane Austen. Feminist snark. It’s delightful.
David found this fireplace image and is trying to convince me we should do something like it to our fireplace. I’m intrigued, but do you think it would be too much? Not with the books, I mean. One can never have too many books. I’ve just been gravitating toward more minimal styles like this one. I worry that built-ins would make the room feel really busy and full…but maybe that would be a good thing? Any thoughts?
I had planned to buy a print of this painting, but when the artist posted it on Instagram at a reduced price I just had to get it. I’m so glad I did because it is gorgeous.
When I picked up my painting, I also got a few of these yummy eclairs. If you’re local you should definitely check out Proof Bread. She paints, he bakes…such a cool and talented family.
And speaking of family, David and I are flying out to Los Angeles this afternoon for my cousin’s wedding…just the two of us. I mean, my parents are picking us up from the airport and chauffeuring us around for a couple days, and we’ll be spending the bulk of our time with family doing wedding stuff, but still. The girls are staying with David’s mom while we enjoy the lovely California weather. It’s gonna be great.
Hope you have a great weekend too!

I know…it's so hard to choose just one!
