About a month ago we had our family pictures taken. Despite my propensity for making unfortunate faces in front of a camera, they turned out fantastic. I’m just so pleased with them.
See that smile? That’s the face of a happier Jen.
After paying closer attention to my moods, I noticed that my brand of crazy is more related to anxiety than depression, which has changed the way I approach things. I’ve identified many of my triggers and am making a conscious effort to avoid or minimize them. I’ve found a combination of prescription medication and natural supplements that is helping. Life is settling into a routine that we’re all happier with and I have lots of things to look forward to, both of which help ease the stress of being a SAHM of two tiny kiddos. I mean, I love my girls and feel so blessed to be home with them, but let’s be honest: this is not always the easiest or most pleasant of jobs.
I’m not yet 100% satisfied with things. I’d still like to find out the root cause of my hormone and mood issues since I’m fairly certain they’re related. I just need to have some blood work done to verify that. But for now? For now I’m much closer to normal.
And normal feels good.
All photos by Photography Hill. Lydia is now taking clients for 2014, so if you’re local and looking for a photographer, I highly recommend her.

You guys are just darling. So darling, in fact, that your bangs inspired me to get bangs myself. 🙂
Love you, my dear. So glad you're feeling better. And this also reminds me that I still owe you an email from like forever ago.
