On Sunday we blessed Margot at church. Since people were already going to be there, we decided to kill two birds with one stone and have a little birthday party for Mila too. Right after church, the family came over to celebrate.
There were great-grandparents.
And uncles and cousins who we rarely get to see.
And presents (of course).
And grandmas to read presents after they were opened.
And a mom who didn’t adjust her camera settings quick enough to get a decent shot of the birthday girl blowing out her candles.
But candles there were, atop a “doughnut cake” as Mila called it. On account of all the sprinkles, you know.
It was a simple little party with just family, and I didn’t take any beautifully staged photos of the food and balloons and all the party guests like a good blogger should, but we sure had a fun afternoon together. And that’s what matters.

I just called Chloe over to look at the pictures and she exclaimed, "Oh my goodness! It is a picture of Amelia, baby Margot, me, Uncle Sam…and….Grandma!!" I am so glad she got to see her cousins. She talks about you all the time.

It was fun to have her here for a minute. She and Amelia had so much fun together.

So sad Dad & I didn't get any pictures with the girls. But, it was a really fun day.

I was thinking the same thing. We'll just have to take a million pics when we're all together next month.

Looks like so much fun! And oh my gosh I need the recipe for that cake! It looks so yummy!

It's the same chocolate cake with vanilla frosting I made earlier (the recipe's somewhere on the blog), but instead of chocolate ganache I threw a ton of sprinkles on there. Easy peasy.
