I tucked in my cardigan and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Also, please ignore my lack of face and arms and the fact that the shadows make one of my calves look significantly larger than the other. Taking a decent photo was kind of the last thing on my mind tonight.
Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a baby who is teething and a baby whose tummy doesn’t like the new foods she’s eating? I don’t care what the pediatrician says; I think we’re going to back off from the solid foods for a little while longer. If she is teething, she could probably use comfort and familiarity instead of crazy new stuffs. If she’s not teething, her belly may not be ready for crazy new stuffs. Because something is up and I’d rather not sit and twiddle my thumbs while she cries if I don’t have to. I’m open to suggestions if you’ve got them.

I sure don't know how to tell the difference, but I'm sorry you guys are having a rough time. That's just no fun. Mine is just starting to decide baby food is for the birds and nothing else is good either, so I'm struggling with getting enough food in him. I sympathize. Good luck!

Uncle John always told me to not worry and to keep trying like once every little while, and watch them to see when they're ready. James didn't really start eating cereal and veggies until 8 months. I was all worried but when I talked to a nutritionist about it too she told me the same thing as John. I think babies are just magical in that they want really only what they need (not gluts like us who just want reeses all the time…)
By the way your hair is cool in that picture. Can't wait for the trip!

Jolena: That is one thing I'm grateful for. Even if she's not too keen on solids, at least I know she's still getting enough to eat. Good luck with your little man!
Anna: Thanks for the reassurance. There are so many mixed messages that I sometimes forget my mothering mantra: listen to your baby and trust your instincts. We'll have to try again in a week or two and see what happens.

What tummy troubles is she having, exactly? Is it making her sick (not supposed to happen) or just changing what's coming out the other end? (unpleasant but to be expected).
What solids did you start her with? I have always done oatmeal rather than rice cereal, for instance, which I've heard is better for their stooling pattern and doesn't turn to glucose instantly and mess up their blood sugar like rice cereal.
