Remember this? My claim to style one skirt 15 different ways and blog about it?
Yeah…
I swear I didn’t forget. That skirt has actually gotten quite a bit of wear over the last several months. I just forgot to photograph myself every time I wore it. With the exception of this (poor quality but no less beloved) shot of me and my friend Adam enjoying the Tom Petty themed installment of Provo’s Rooftop Concert Series (after he opened for the show), every other ensemble featuring Mr. Mustard has been undocumented.
UNTIL TODAY.
This time I took my inspiration from Teal at Expecting Chic:

I love pairing of basic stripes with a bold solid color. This was my version thereof:
(My incredibly tired smile here is courtesy of Miss Mila, who is refusing for the second day in a row to take an afternoon nap. Don’t kids drop morning naps around this age? She still goes down at 9:30 quite willingly–in fact she asks to go lay down for a rest–but the PM has turned into a scream fest. I’m really loving it…I said never.)
Anyway, the skirt. Its pleats aren’t quite as crisp as they once were, which has to say something about the amount of wear (and subsequent washing) this baby has gotten. I know this is not a groundbreaking ensemble–really, are any of the things I wear?–but it’s comfy and I feel cute in it.
Stripey shirt + mustard skirt = happy Jen. Stripey shirt + mustard skirt + well-rested toddler = happier Jen. A girl can dream, right?
shirt: Ann Taylor / skirt: ASOS / belt: came with skirt / shoes: Famous Footwear / bracelet: gift / be proud of me for creating an outfit entirely devoid of Target merchandise because that is incredible rare

Drop that morning nap like a hot potato. I promise you will all be so much happier!!! Promise promise promise. I cut my kids off between 12-15 months, and it is so blissful…

Tried your suggestion. Afternoon nap lasted less than 2 hours and she was exhausted and grumpy again by 3:30. BUT we didn't have to fight over sleeping; she went right down. So that's a plus, I guess.
