As some of you may have noticed, we bought a new couch.
While my mom was in town last month trying to help me kickstart labor (which then of course did not happen for another two weeks…) we spent an hour or so wandering around Ikea. In the showroom, we found a leather couch that was a) surprisingly comfortable, b) surprisingly attractive, and c) significantly less expensive than some other couches we’d been eying for a while. I made a mental note to take David back to check it out later and promptly forgot about it.
Then we got to the as-is section and, lo and behold, there was that same leather couch. And it was marked down to $250.
Suddenly I really really wanted it.
And then we went to Rumbi for dinner and I had some amazing mahi mahi that I want to eat every day for the rest of my life. But that’s neither here nor there.
Point is, we have a new couch. Finally. It’s not exactly what we wanted, but couches from Restoration Hardware are waaaaay out of our price range at the moment. Plus, this one fits the space better than one of those over-sized leather behemoths would. I’m pleased with it. Double plus, since we spent so little on it, I feel justified in spending a little more on a second couch for the living room.
What do you think of this lovely?
Could she coexist with the leather one or would they be fighting each other all the time? Their shapes are similar but not identical (obvs), and I’m hesitant to buy it sight-unseen (although I did order fabric swatches and the Klein azure is perfect), but the reviews are all positive. I don’t know…it’s just so tempting.
What do you think?

Love that couch- and yes, they would be BFF if given the chance to cohabitate.

Isn't she gorgeous? Even if they wouldn't work well together, I would still want her.

I love that couch too! And the leather one is super comfortable too! They would be perfect in the same room! One dark color and one bright color couch are perfect in one room! You just cant have 2 bright colored couches or else that is too busy! Sorry… Interior Design in me coming out!

Good to know! I forget you studied that for a while; I should get your advice more often.

Score on the leather couch! As for the colored couch, it looks like our new couch. Exactly (except for color). Maybe you should come on over and sit upon it to better make your decision. I can provide snacks, conversation, a playmate for Mila, and arms to hold Margot.

Sounds like an excellent plan.
