Here’s the rundown for the month, in case you were dying to know about my list progress…
Reach out to my friends: I keep trying to meet up with Alicia but it keeps not happening. Curse our busy schedules! I did, however, send a belated birthday card to my dear Rachael because it was perfect and she is the only person I know who would think it was funny.
(By the way, if you are not Rachael, you can see it here. If you are are Rachael, you are forbidden from clicking that link until after your card arrives in the mail.)
Wear skirts more often: I wore a skirt or dress nearly every day this month, and guess what. I didn’t die! I’ll be sharing more thoughts–and awkward selfies! Everyone’s favorite!–on that endeavor next week.
Bake something new each month: I made these cookies and they came out weirdly flat. Not sure what happened there. I also tried these biscoff blondies which turned out well. Nothing to write home about, but delicious nonetheless. Definitely better shortly after baking than the following day.
Try five new-to-me restaurants: David and I went on a date to Joyride Taco House in downtown Gilbert. It was awesome. The decor in there is fantastic (Copper light fixtures and hex wallpaper? So rad.) and the food is delicious. I tried three different kinds of taco but the braised beef was far and away the best. I need another asap.
Try five new-to-me foods: With all the waffle trucking we’ve been doing around here, I’m surprised I didn’t already include this. Liege waffles, my friends. They’re different from regular waffles. Richer. More dense. Really really good. If you haven’t had one yet you are missing out. I actually bought some Belgian pearl sugar so we can try making them at home.
Grow a more successful garden: I don’t know if we’ll get any squash or carrots or watermelon (although I’m really hoping for one of the latter) but we’ve got this behemoth of a cucumber to look forward to.
You can’t tell (because every picture I tried to take of me holding it seemed…inappropriate) but it’s about as long as Margot’s legs. Tzatziki for everyone!
Remodel the kitchen: It’s getting so close!
Post a monthly think piece: Two kids are not easier than one kid. Amen.
Contribute to my other projects: I felt pretty good about this Beesley Project post as well as this one. Confession: those are the only ones I wrote this month. I’ve skipped a few posts this summer that and will need to catch up before the end of the year. I can do that though, right? And Tipsaholic…I’m sorry I have abandoned you. I will come back some day, I promise.
I’m hoping to crank a whole heap more stuff out in August…assuming I don’t melt into a puddle of Jen before then. Is anyone else ready for summer to be over already?

2. I'm looking forward to awkward selfies.
3. I'm going to make Andrew take me to Joyride Taco House. Tacos are my favorite.

2. You should be. I'm getting really good at it.
3. DO IT. That place was so great.

It is a really good thing the waffle trucks aren't very close to me because I don't think I would be able to resist. I've also got some of that pearl sugar and biscoff spread so we can try to replicate them! You'll have to let us know how yours turn out 🙂

Likewise!
