Happy Monday! It’s been a while!
I’ve been in a bit of a productivity slump the last few weeks. Thanks to some good timing, a little kick in the pants, and a flood of inspiration, I’m back in the saddle today.
We had a lovely low-key Easter. Friday the kids dyed eggs, which delighted them to no end. Saturday we had a mini Easter egg hunt at Grandma Mary’s house. And Sunday we watched the rest of LDS General Conference in our jammies. It was a perfect balance of family time and learning about Jesus. And while it’s hard even for grownups to listen to 8+ hours of “church” over the course of a weekend, I was pleasantly surprised when Mila made a connection between our bedtime story and one of the sermons.
“It’s like that guy said about how lots of little things add up to big things. When we are good a little bit every day, we become really good!”
Moments like that make me so grateful I get to be a mom to these marvelous little souls.
(We’re reading On the Banks of Plum Creek, incidentally, and Laura learned how easy it is to go from being a little bit naughty to DANGEROUSLY NAUGHTY.)
In a lot of ways I feel like I’ve been given new life this weekend. Which is, I suppose, all too appropriate for Easter. Sometimes we have to let things go in order to make room for new life.
God is good.
Life is good.
Let’s do something good.
