Throwing it back to some old school bloggage…because I can and because I’m feeling weirdly burnt out. And when was the last time I word vomited about general happenings?
That’s what I thought.
***
Seeing: papers everywhere. End of the school year info, pictures the girls have drawn, handouts from church, homework, mail, etc. etc. etc. Can I just throw everything in the recycle bin?
Watching: Jane the Virgin and Moana. Both are excellent in very different ways.
Feeling: too hot and sweaty for comfort. We’ve had a few cooler days lately, but temps are creeping ever upward. Boo.
Hearing: Ryan babble to himself as he dumps out a jar of paper clips and puts them back in one by one. Keeps him busy for like 20 minutes at a time. I love it.
Listening: to anything that’s not kid stuff. Particularly fond of the Careless Whisper, Blood Orange, and Memphis Soul stations on Pandora.
Smelling: cinnamon—got an excellent recipe coming at you in the fall when it makes more sense—and my own armpits. Not gonna lie, I’m really ready to be done with my natural deodorant experiment. I have some new results to share next week and they’re GREAT. The stuff I’m using right now? Less great.
Eating: cold leftover pizza. Thank goodness for a husband who goes for takeout when cooking feels like too much.
Drinking: green smoothies every morning. It’s become a ritual I look forward to. Who would’ve guessed?
Reading: too much Twitter, not enough actual books. Looking to remedy that today if possible.
Writing: for the East Valley Mom Blog. I’d love if you’d stop by and read the articles I’ve written so far! Here, here, and (my personal favorite) here.
Dreaming: of running away to the beach. Any beach. I need the ocean.
Planning: ways to stay busy this summer. We’ve got season passes to a water park, which I think is an excellent start.
Texting: my family. Both of my brothers recently finished their degrees (a PhD, an MBA, and a BS between them!), we’ve got a new niece, there’s a family reunion in the works, and we’ve all got plenty to talk about these days.
Calling: all the doctors. Just general maintenance, though. We’ve got to find a dermatologist, all my kids are/were due for their regular checkups, I need new glasses, and we need a new dentist. Fun.
Doodling: a few requests from friends and family.
Anticipating: my best friend’s wedding in a couple weeks. She’s going to be the most beautiful bride!
Dreading: another long night with too many children waking me up. As soon as we settle into a good place with the sleeping, something shakes it up and I’m back to zombie mode. Sigh.
Shopping: for new shoes for the girls. WHY DO THEIR FEET GROW SO FAST
Window shopping: for pretty dresses that are totally incompatible with my lifestyle and budget. So fun to look at them, though.
Rearranging: the shelves in my new work nook. I can’t wait to share after photos with you…if I can ever be satisfied with how I’ve styled it, that is.
Laughing: at Mila in this photo. It’s gorgeous…and then you notice her depressed little face. It kills me dead.
What are you up to these days?

Hugs to you, my friend.
Also, Mila slays me. ha!
