How do I let this happen? I keep telling myself I’m not a style/fashion blogger (because I AM NOT) and yet here we are.
I am so sorry.
Deidre recruited me to participate in another round of How We Wore It, and I just can’t say no to her beautiful face! Plus I was legitimately inspired by the insipration photo this time. Fall clothes are my jam.
I’ve got a curvier figure than Stephanie here, and I’m tall. Oversized things in proportions I like are hard to come by. So instead of an oversized tunic sweater, I went with a long cardigan over a half-tucked tee, which incidentally is one of my favorite clothing combinations. I’m not boring. I just know what I like.
One thing I really like is the cooler temps we’ve been having around here:
But this is how I feel about those cooler temps being in the high 80s, which is still too warm for even lightweight sweaters:
HELLO CRANKY PANTS.
With or without a cardigan, this grey tee + cuffed jeans + tan booties = my fall uniform. Sorry, other clothes. I’ll see you in a few months.
It’s been a while since I found an outfit that felt so comfortably me. Which is funny because this is basically the fall equivalent of this outfit. I prefer this version. Maybe it’s the fit of the tee? It drapes so nicely. And it was long enough for me to wear the heck out of it last year when I was hugely pregnant. Versatility and longevity? Yes please.
True story: I reeeeeeally wanted these ankle boots when I saw them last fall. However, the price? It made me choke. By the time I convinced myself I liked them enough to pay that amount, they were sold out. Couldn’t find them in that color ANYWHERE. I almost cried. This whole past year I’ve been looking for them on every website I could think of. I kept seeing them in other colors, so I knew they hadn’t been completely discontinued and hoped maybe the tan would come back. AND IT DID!!! Even better, they cost (slightly) less than last year. Huzzah! It’s a first-world autumnal miracle!
Don’t mind my ankles. I cut one shaving, got a rug burn on the other trying to demonstrate how Ryan scoots across the floor, and have at least three mosquito bites somewhere on there. Oh, and a blister on one of my heels. Obviously I take really good care of myself. But hey! My boots are cute!
I keep trying the stacked bracelets thing, and while I love how they look, I always end up taking them off after a couple hours. I’m more of a necklace girl. The chevron one was a birthday gift from David. The little stamped circles are my babies’ initials. Who’s got two thumbs and is turning into a sentimental softy in her old age? THIS GIRL.
So. There you go. Me! Wearing clothes! It’s groundbreaking! (Spoiler: it’s not. It’s fine.)
Don’t worry, I’m done. I can’t promise I won’t do this to you again, though. Consider yourselves warned.

And if you made it this far (bless you) maybe you could humor me and answer the deepest question of all: what’s your go-to outfit these days?

Thanks, friend!
Sierra says
YES. To all of this. I love your cardigan, boots and necklace. Totally an outfit that I would wear. You are hilarious! I found you through HWWI collab! Love finding new friends. Well done!
jenbosen says
Aw, thanks! I’m so glad you stopped by and hope I’ll see you around more!
Brooke at Silver Lining says
I’m the same way with bracelets – they always seem like such a good idea, but the longest they’ve lasted is probably three hours.
jenbosen says
Right? They’re so pretty but man, they drive me crazy if I wear ’em too long!
Feisty Harriet says
A) That chevy necklace is 1,000% perfection.
B) I had a similar hunt for shoes once, finally found the last pair in the country on clearance in my size. Plunked down my monies as fast as humanely possible. (Also? They are emerald green suede Mary Jane wedge heels that I’ve had for..12 years. And still wear. And still am heart-eyed-in-love with. Worth it!)
