261 + 163 + 30 weeks
I’ve been doing this Mila Monday thing for over five years now. While I have posted late every now and then, I’ve only truly missed posting weekly photos a couple of times. I’m kind of proud. And I’m so happy that I kept it up all these years. Seeing my kiddos grow up and reading about the little things they used to do has been good for my mama heart. Even when they make crazy eyes at the camera.
It’s the closest thing I’ll ever have to a baby book or scrapbook for any of them.
However, things change.
Once Mila starts school, it’s not likely I’ll be able to get a photo of her every Monday. I’d like to try, because I still want to document her growth, but I know myself. Pics before school ain’t happening most days. I’m not going to stress us all out trying to make it work.
Not only that, but as each of my kids gets older I need to allow them more personal space. I don’t intend to stop including them on the blog, and much as privacy can be a concern, I don’t think the pseudonym thing is going to happen. That ship sailed long ago. I can, however, begin limiting what I share and show here.
Here’s what I’m thinking right now:
I want to continue posting weekly photos, but I won’t always include all three kids. More often it will just be the little ones…until Margot turns five and then we’ll adapt again.
Due to other obligations (read: sponsored posts) I will either post twice on Mondays when necessary or bump Mila Mondays to later in the week, depending on how the week is going.
I’m looking into another way to feature Miss Mila. She’s really interested in writing lately, and a monthly guest post from her could be really entertaining.
What say ye? Should I scrap Mila Mondays altogether? (The thought makes me sad…it’s kind of an institution at this point…but it makes sense.) Would you rather see two posts on Mondays or have weekly photos pushed out later?
And, most importantly, what kind of thing should I have Mila write about? I’m leaning toward having her review movies or parks or restaurants or something, but I would LOVE to hear suggestions!

In other news, I guest posted over at Iquriouskids this weekend. It’s a Houston-based website with tons of resources for parents. You should stop by and check them out!

Restaurant reviews by Mila would be great! I think. I’ll probably read any guest post she writes because kids are hilarious.

Mila is an exceptional “engineer” like her dad. Maybe she could explain how to make something.
