Not that the girls haven’t been cracking me right up; I just tend to share all my kid quotes right away on Facebook instead of saving them for the blog. But today is your lucky day! Mila: “Why does he want to do something special for all the ladies in the world?”
Me: (stifling a giggle) “Because ladies are awesome!”
Mila: (long thoughtful pause) “I don’t think ladies are awesome.”
Me: “Why not? I’m a lady.”
Mila: “Well…I think Daddy is awesome.”
Me: …

Any time someone knocks on the door…
Margot: “Hey! Whobuddy is at my house?”

Running into the kitchen with wide eyes…
Margot: “Oh no! Dere’s a Holy Ghost in my woom! It’s so scawy!”
Me: …

Singing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”…
Me: “And on that farm he had a…”
Margot: “Unicorn!”
Me: “I…do not even know what a unicorn would say.”
Margot: “Fwuff fwuff fwuff!”
Me: …

As I was doing laundry…
Margot: “Mom, are you naked?”
Me: “Uh, do I look naked?”
Margot: “Nope. You are not naked.”
Me: “Yup. Wearing clothes.”
Margot: “Why you are not naked?”
Me: …

After I mentioned David would be going on a business trip soon…
Mila: “Where is that?”
Me: “It’s in Europe. All the way across the ocean.”
Mila: “Oh. That is a long fly.”

Looking at a picture of The Muppets…
Margot: Look! It’s a elf and a fwog and some dudes!
Me: …

Explaining some game to her sister…
Mila: “You can play with your friends Chayna, and Clayda, and…Pork.”
Me: ???

These kids. Good thing they’re so dang funny because I might have sold them to the circus a long time ago.
