Someone with the right connections must read my blog, because instead of feeling like April today, it’s a cool 60 degrees. Which I realize is what April feels like in most of the country, but whatever. We’ll take it.
And now, to the things.
This is probably why I was able to eat so much cake last year and still lose all my baby weight.
Other possible probable factors: great genes (thanks Mom!), lack of appetite (thanks depression!), and breastfeeding (thanks fat vampire baby!).
While we’re on YouTube anyway, this video isn’t new but it makes me laugh every single time. The whale. And the kangaroo. Just all of it really.
Continuing with the food theme, you should know that my love for coconut sticky rice with mango is river deep and mountain high. I could eat it with (for?) every meal. But you know what? This is a most excellent substitute when you can’t visit your favorite Thai food place to get a fix and you also don’t have a rice steamer basket thingy to make your own. Try it. You will not be sad. Bonus: it’s gluten- and dairy-free! You’re welcome, dietarily-restricted friends.
What is with my food obsession right now? It’s like I can’t think of anything else to talk about. Yeesh.
This is partly because I feel like I’m hungry all the dang time. (You know…nursing and no longer quite so depressed…see above.) But also it’s because I’ve been invited to provide treats for a couple upcoming events and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO MAKE. It’s freaking me out. Any suggestions? Or requests, if you’ll be attending either Chrissy’s Crafty Pants Party or the next AZ Blogger Meetup event?
In other non-food-adjacent, fairly self-promotional news, neither of these was written by me but they’re from the sites I write for, so….yeah. *insert shrug and sheepish grin here*
This is my favorite post at Tipsaholic right now. I need to get my lazy (and slightly terrified) bum into the bathroom and just potty train Mila already. We picked up the dinosaur book from the library yesterday and she thinks it’s hilarious. So that’s something, I guess.
My favorite post on The Beesley Project this week was, oddly enough, on a hymn that I don’t usually like much. It’s not bad, it’s just overused, so I really appreciated BJ’s fresh take on it. Probably helps that he’s a boy so he doesn’t sing it, like, ever.
I hope you all have a marvelous weekend. If you don’t live near me, stay warm and drink some hot chocolate with mini marshmallows for me. If you’re in the area, you should come to the Street Eats festival tomorrow in Scottsdale. David and I will be there sampling from as many trucks as possible. Because you know…food.
I may have a problem.
