Ladies and gentlemen, I give you…my daughter.
Me: “Margot! I just changed your diaper! How do you poop so much?!”
Mila: grabbing the pacifier and putting it on the floor between Margot’s legs “Poop a pah-fier, Mama.”
Yeah. Just plug her other end. That’ll do the trick.
Ewwwwww.

Mila: “Mama?”
Me: “What’s up baby?”
Mila: “I like a star! Shining bitely! Shining a whole world a see!”
Me: “Oh really?”
Mila: “Uh huh. I cuh do a say happy tings a day! Ehbody love you!”
Me: “Well all right then.”
(Click here if you don’t know what she’s talking about.)

Another variation on the song above, which appears to be her current favorite:
“…I cuh do a say happy tings a day, I know udders love me uh Mahgoooooo!”
*
With no introduction or explanation:
“Mahgo is so so…’piderman!”
*
While watching David make breakfast in his pajamas one Sunday:
“Daddy have da biggest toes ever.”

And that one time she made my cold, exhausted, grouchy mama heart grow three sizes that day…
Mila: trying to climb into my lap which was already occupied by her little sister
Me: “No. Please get off me. Get off.” setting Margot down and moving to another seat “I don’t want to hold anyone or
touch anyone or deal with anyone right now. I’m tired and grumpy and hot
and done.”
Mila: “I sorry, Mama, I sorry.”
Me: “It’s not your fault, baby. Mama’s just having a rough day.”
Mila: “I take care of your owie.” walks away
Me: ?
Mila: comes back with a tube of toothpaste & points at my knee “Right dere?”
Me: “Sure.”
Mila: pretends to put toothpaste on my kneecap “Dere ya go, Mama. All better now!”
Me: “Thank you sweetheart. Come give me a hug.”
Mila: “I love you so so so much!”
Me: “I love you so much too.”
Aaaand cue weeping. That girl is just too much sometimes.

I love when my kids (and vicariously your kids) react so sweetly to our bad moods. They can be so pure-hearted.
Mila is so amazing. I love her!!
Jen says
Seriously. They drive you crazy and then melt your heart and it all somehow works out.
