When Mila wears footie pajamas, as she was yesterday morning, she doesn’t have much traction on our wood floors. It was only a matter of time before she fell. So when she pulled herself up to stand by the couch, turned to look at me, and her feet slipped right out from under her, I could only watch in horror as the side of her head hit SMACK! against the rung of the stool next to her.
There was literally a dent in her temple. I thought she had a concussion for sure.
Fortunately after some comfort nursing and a little nap, she was totally fine. A barely-noticeable bruise, but no permanent damage.
The dark spot on her cheek is just a shadow, but that mark under her eye is definitely a bruise. Poor kid. She’s a mess. |
In fact she felt so much better that not two hours later, she happily crawled right off the edge of my bed the moment I turned my back.
She landed on her face. The way she was screaming, I was certain her neck was broken and it was my fault for not paying closer attention.
Again, though, she was fine after a little snuggle time with Mama. A bit of a black eye, but nothing like what I feared.
Thank goodness babies are made of rubber.
This is where accident #1 happened. That’s the offending stool. I should burn it. How dare it hurt my baby. |

As I was checking your blog Chloe came running up yelling "Mema!! Mema!!" (her version of Mila). I love that she know her cousin. Thanks for posting pictures so we closer than we really are. 🙂

That is precious, Emily! I can't wait till the girls are a little older and can actually play together and be friends. Cousins are the best.

I have definitely have had those flashes of rage against inanimate objects, and then kind of laughed at myself, but still been a little teeny bit mad.

Stupid inanimate objects, hurting babies and making my life difficult.
