David got a job!
And, even better, it’s the job I’ve been secretly hoping he would get. It’s with a company he’s already worked with and really likes, and they really like him and respect his expertise. Also, this company has a lot of potential for growth and (for David) upward mobility. Even better, it’s here in the Valley, so we can continue to stay in our little house rent-free while we save up for a house of our own. Which also means we will still be fairly close to both of our families, and the two future grandmothers are THRILLED about that.
This new job comes with a great salary and full benefits, including dental and vision. Neither of us has been to the dentist in nearly two years, and I imagine our next visit is not going to be a pleasant or inexpensive one, so this is fantastic news. Plus, our insurance will kick in April 1st, which means even if the baby comes early, we will be covered and won’t have to pay exorbitant hospital fees on our own. This is a huge relief.
He’s been working so hard lately–taking on tons of freelance projects while searching for steady employment–so he can support our little family, and I know it hasn’t been easy. When you apply for every engineering position you can possibly find but only get responses about welding jobs that pay $12 an hour, it’s easy to get discouraged. But he kept looking and we kept praying and now that he’s got this amazing offer, all the other people are suddenly coming out of the woodwork and want to hire him too.
(Sorry Honeywell. You’re TOO LATE. And also, you really shouldn’t call people at 10 PM to get more information for your recruitment database. That’s just rude.)
Anyway, I’m just so proud of him. Yay David!

YAY!!!! Congratulations!!! What great news. Although I'm a little sad the one in Indiana didn't work out. 🙂
And seriously, major relief on insurance, eh?

Thanks. It has been a long time coming. Glad I did not take my dad's advice and go back to welding.
