“It amazes me,” she said, “how much the Lord is mindful of our needs. Even our dietary needs are provided for.”
He nodded, indicating that she should continue.
“In summer, we have melons and summer squash and other fruits and vegetables full of juices to keep us hydrated in the heat.” Other heads bobbed enthusiastically, thinking of the triple digit weather that would soon come. “In the winter, the citrus is ripe and full of vitamins to help us combat colds and the flu. And that’s just a couple easy examples. Everything we need to stay healthy is available in the right season.”
“Perhaps then,” he concluded for her, “we should pay better attention to what produce is actually in season when we make our grocery lists.”
“Exactly.” She smiled.
“Our bank accounts would probably appreciate it if we did,” a voice piped up from the back. Everyone chuckled and the teacher moved on.
