How is it already October?
More to the point, how is it already October and we’re still having record-breaking high temperatures around here? Don’t we already get enough of those from, oh, May to September? What’s the deal, fall?
I want to go for walks in the evenings without sweating like a cheese in the sun.
I’m ready to pull the big snuggly blanket out from under the bed (where it’s been since April) and put it back on the bed where it belongs.
I’ve got cravings for hot cider and fresh baked bread, but the thought of baking all afternoon makes me feel faint.
Most of all, I am just waiting for the day when it stops being too hot to wear my new sweater. The one that’s a color I never wear but have been secretly hoping I could pull off. The one that I almost didn’t buy because a) it would be too hot to wear it right away and b) I was hesitant about that color. The one I’m really glad I did buy, because when I wore it to dinner in Prescott (because it was blessedly cool there) on our anniversary, David told me it looked “really good” on me. And who doesn’t love hearing that?
Summer, how can we miss you if you never go away?

Amen, and Amen!

You could always come visit Boston. We're starting to get chilly out here.

Or Orem. We've got snow on the mountains!
