I love wrapping presents. LOVE it. I think I love the wrapping a little bit more than I love finding the perfect gift.
Which is why I am totally stoked about the next few days/weeks/months at work. It’s time for Gift Wrap Wonderland!
Yesterday I went to a bow-making workshop so I will be able to wrap packages we’ll have on display in the store. Tuesday and Wednesday night, some of my coworkers and I will be transforming the middle of the store from “where the big boxes live” to “where all the pretty wraps and trims and cards and gifts live.” I feel like one of Santa’s elves.
During the next couple weeks, we’ll be transitioning into holiday mode. A little early, perhaps, since it’s still October, but I’m strangely ok with this. I’ve been thinking about Christmas since August (not normal for me, by the way) and have even started my Christmas shopping already (again, totally not normal for me). It’s all so exciting this year, for some reason. And who am I to squash early holiday cheer?
I’m sure I’ll be getting tired of it by mid-December. But for now, I’m only too happy to indulge my love of paper products and pretty things.

I agree. I love wrapping presents. I always wanted to be one of those girls that wrapped presents in ZCMI… with the wall of wrapping paper. Mmm. So beautiful. I am way jealous of you.

Apropos of nothing, the following clue appeared in my crossword today:
4 Down: Whence "Nothing will come of nothing" in "King Lear"
I tried entering "BLOGGER", but it didn't fit.

Emily: You should be. It will be awesome. But hey, I can totally teach you how to make bows at Thanksgiving!
Optimistic.: This makes my day. Thank you.

we really are related! I hoard old tissue paper and bows so I can reuse them and mix and match and make them fluff out of bags and boxes perfectly…ridiculous
