David and I went to Out of Africa to celebrate our anniversary. This is not the first time we’ve gone to a zoo to commemorate the day of our marriage’s birth, nor do I expect it to be the last. I’m not really sure what that says about us as a couple, but whatever. We like to go gawk at the animals, that’s all.
We ended up taking something like 300 pictures while we were there, only a handful of which include either of us. (Given the option between a picture of a white tiger eating a turkey and a picture of hot sweaty me, the tiger’s going to win every time.) Even without shots of us, though, I still have to sort through all those photos and find the best ones and edit them so I can toss the rest and free up some space on the memory card. I’m really excited to tell you about the good times we had (and show you photographic evidence) but let’s be honest. This could be a lengthy process.
So to tide you over, here is a picture of Boom Boom the ENORMOUS (and rather elusive) white rhino giving you the stink eye.
For the record, it took nearly everyone in the park shouting his name and clapping at him for him to even look up from his dinner. I’d probably look like that too if people were yelling at me while I was trying to eat.
Tomorrow: all the animals we got to touch!

Ha ha, I love the stink eye.
