Mila got glasses this week!
Margot started wearing glasses in January of 2020, and I’ve been wearing them since time immemorial, so now all the girls in our family use vision enhancing technology. (Makes it sound like we’re superheroes and not just blind bats!)
Honestly, Mila has needed them for a while. We were all SO sick around Christmas 2019–well, Mila, Ryan, and I were; David and Margot were surprisingly untouched by the flu–that it was a massive accomplishment to get Margot to the eye doctor before the new year at all. I never wound up rescheduling Mila’s appointment. Margot’s was the priority at the time, anyway. She’d been complaining of headaches almost nightly, and she couldn’t read street signs at all when we drove around town. Mila didn’t really start showing signs of nearsightedness until last fall.
So Margot got glasses in 2020 and Mila got them in 2021 and Ryan is jealous of them both. He did get to have his first eye exam last month, along with the girls, and the doctor was pretty confident he’ll need them eventually. Just not yet. Maybe we can get him through kindergarten before adding the responsibility of glasses to the mix? Fingers crossed.
