Thus it starts.
In case you didn’t pick up on it yesterday, we’re expecting baby #2 in April! (Yes, I am the lumpy pumpkin with the baby pumpkin on board. It’s only fitting.)
That’s actually part of the motivation behind the 30 for 30 this time. I do like the idea of making it a November tradition, but there’s a little more to it than that.
See, I’m in that super fun stage of pregnancy where I can’t button my pants without cutting off the circulation to my lower extremities but I don’t look pregnant. I just look like this:
I feel so radiant. Bleh.
(I’m actually sticking my stomach out as hard as I can. I don’t usually look quite this big. Yet.)
Anyway, until I’m in full-blown maternity mode, I’m trying to get my regular clothes to play nicely with my thickening middle. Some creative thinking is often required to make things work, and even then, I’ve got a wicked case of muffin top going on much of the time. I really need to wear some looser shirts until the belly is worth showing off.
Additionally, when I am almost exclusively in empire waists and stretchy pants, I’ll still need to get my remix on if I don’t want to buy out an entire Motherhood Maternity or, the more likely scenario, be utterly bored of my limited wardrobe before baby gets here.
This 30 for 30 is one part practice for when I’m packing a basketball under my shirt, one part attempt to work with what I’ve currently got, and one part desperate effort to feel cute while wearing what is essentially an over-the-pants under-the-shirt girdle to hold my britches up.
shirt, jeans, necklace: Target / shoes: Payless / check it: I’m ombre!

I've never tried the belly bands, but I've found the somewhat ghetto trick of using an elastic hairband looped around the button and buttonhole to be pretty effective…that usually gets me to 25 weeks or so.
Also–your hair! So cute!

I never can find an elastic that is the right tension. It's either too tight and breaks or way too loose to keep the drawers from drooping. The BeBand has treated me well…mostly cuz it smooths over any weird lumps for me.
Also–thanks!

I have a whole box for you of maternity clothes.. and some baby stuff! I will bring it to mom's at Thanksgiving! P.s you always look beautiful! I don't believe any of that looking like a muffin top and pudge tummy. You always look amazing! I want to grow up to be just like you! 🙂

Oh yay. I was a little worried because I only have like 3 shirts, and that is not enough to get me through the next 5 months. Thanks!
