How is this month already almost halfway done? Between the 4th and a family reunion last week, I feel like I’ve hardly had a chance to find my bearings. And here we are with the first day of school breathing down our necks already.
That’s why I kept it simple for my monthly mantra this time: CHILL. I just want to chill.
Our air conditioning is blowing full blast and I don’t feel even a little bit bad about it. I’m sipping the chillest of drinks (“recipes” coming at you Friday) and letting my kids run around in swimming suits all day. I intend to enjoy our last couple trips to the water park before it closes for the season. Basically I’m all about staying cool and relaxing as much as possible for the next few weeks.
That doesn’t mean I won’t have plenty to do. Summer On Purpose is still in full swing. I’ve got dentist and optometrist appointments to schedule for the kids before school starts back up. Mila has outgrown most of her school uniforms from last year, so we’ll be doing some shopping too. Plus there will be back-to-school nights and meet the teacher and all that fun stuff. David has another work trip, and my mom + sister + niece will be visiting for a couple days.
If it’s nonessential, though, it can wait till August.
We’ll be busy. But, like, in a chill kinda way.
